Parties

Parties

Usually two parties, Licensor (content owner) and Licensee (Consortium or institution).

Licensor is the owner of the electronic content. A licensor may be the publisher of a database or periodical or journal. A library may also be a license or for example if the library owns the copyright to manuscripts. Generally the licensor owns the content and can legally allow others to use that content.

The licensee is the person or entity who obtain permission to use the electronic content. For example a licensee maybe a library, educational institution, or resource center which licenses content from the licensor.

A license agreement should state legal names and addresses of the parties who are subject to the agreement
